sometimes it's about need

there has been a lot of good surf in new jersey lately. i haven't been getting much of it. i went down today not expecting much, and when i saw the waves, it didn't look like much. the winds were wrong and it was a bit choppy. but some nice little peelers made it through. the bojo hull was the right tool.

Happy Anniversary Heather! 7 years ago yesterday, Heather and I first met at Chaucers( a bar). Every year we go back even though it has since changed to Pub & Kitchen. This year we went back as three. The photo is taken at the table we first met. You have no idea what the future holds for you.

The winds ended up a little too south this morning. I was hoping for some cleaner lines. Fortunately, I did score some fun speedialin' waves to make make the session worth the trip. 3/2's and chilly.

my little girl kept heather and i from getting any shut-eye from Thursday on. I did manage to make it out sunday morning. the waves were still fun but i've certainly surfed better.

we scored a great morning. there was barely anyone out. it was a glassy wave machine. if this regular wave action continues, i may feel like a surfer again.

i scored a great monday(+25 pts.) log session with dand. missed sunday surf(-50 pts.), but had a fantastic day with my daughter(+ where's the infinity key?).

i surfed a great 4 hours session on saturday with Rev Jeff and Mortgage Man Kent.

i had a great session this morning.

i grabbed a surf with dand on friday. we had fun.

so if if surfing as a dad means being out of shape, no paddle, exhausted and slightly bloated from too many tasty IPA's, then maybe i've been a father longer than 3 weeks. thank you heather for being cool with me surfing. it was a fun log morning. clean peelers. i was surprised to see it snowing when i pulled up to the beach. it lasted for the first half hour of the session. it was nice.
