in  southern new jersey, at an old movie theater that was converted into a sound stage, nowhere near a beach or california, shooting a commercial for nutrisystem, i ran into surf filmmaker dana morris(above center).  he made two super surf flicks, way of life and beneath the surface.  we went out the other night in philly for drinks and laughs.  good guy.  good times.

in every surfer's beginning years there is one standout individual that guides that surfer down the path to where, years later, one  emerges.  for me, steve was that individual.  we work together.  He does props. i do lighting.  he has been surfing a long time and is still stoked.  his 2 key gifts of surf enlightenment:  thomas campbell's The Seedling, and a super sweet mexico surf spot that i have journeyed to every year for the last 7 years.  these two things changed everything for me.  thanks steve.
